Born Roger Bird in the quiet county of Sussex, Roja Dove’s passion for scents was ignited on his 21st birthday at the iconic Guerlain Boutique in Paris. This visit was the catalyst for a drastic career shift from medicine at the University of Cambridge to the aromatic allure of perfumery.
Dove’s relentless pursuit of knowledge caught the attention of Robert Guerlain, leading to an illustrious 20-year career with the perfume house. His unique talent and dedication earned him the title of “Professeur de Parfum” and the distinction of being the first non-family Global Ambassador for Guerlain.
In 2004, Dove’s vision for a sensual haven materialized with the opening of his Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie at Harrods. This exquisite salon, adorned with silk, satin, and crystal, became a treasure trove of both renowned and rare fragrances. It was here that Dove responded to his customers’ desires for a personal touch, crafting semi-bespoke scents that were as exclusive as they were enchanting, each housed in a simple yet elegant bottle.
